DON OLLIFF

Don has worked at UC San Diego for 10 years. He is a native Southern California resident originally from Glendale, California. Before working at UCSD he worked in a professional photographic lab for 17 years. Don’s hobbies include photography, sailing, and woodworking. He is also an excellent ceramicist, often creating custom glazes and firing his work in his own home kiln! An appreciation of the arts runs in Don’s family, as he met his wife Deborah of 37 years, in a college art history class! Deborah and Don have two children, Karin, who works for PG&E in the legal department, and Jason, who works for the Rady Business school at UCSD. At the Media Center Don uses his creativity and technical knowledge to figure out how new technologies can be used to improve the learning experience.
