EFREN BLANCO

Efren was born in Puebla, Mexico. He has lived in several cities in Mexico and the USA, including, Mexico City, Cholula, Acapulco, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Granville NY, and for 11 years in San Diego. Throughout the 70's he played tenor saxophone and flute in bands that played multiple events in Mexico. Later Efren became Chief Engineer for the retailer Saks Fifth Avenue where he worked for 10 years managing the maintenance of their buildings in La Jolla, Mission Valley, and Beverly Hills. He then completed studies in Cinema directing and producing and worked for several audiovisual companies before coming to UCSD in 1994. He is married and has three children.
