ENER BARCENA
Originally from the Philippines, Ener served in the US Navy for 24 years, specializing as an Aviation Jet Mechanic, a maintenance Instructor, and a Command Drug/Alcohol Program Advisor. He retired from the Navy in 1997 as a Chief Petty Officer. Ener has a BS in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale. He enjoys deejaying and videotaping wedding events on his weekends. He is also a certified Notary/Legal Videographer. In 1999, Ener came to UCSD's Media Services department to put his audiovisual expertise to use. Ener and his wife Beth have been married for 31yrs and are blessed with 2 sons, Ryan and Bethner. Ener's hobbies include reading, watching CNN and HGTV, and writing a blog. He also plays the guitar, harmonica, piano, keyboard, and is now learning bass guitar.
