Distance Learning

What is it?

Distance Learning refers to teaching situations in which the instructor and students are geographically separated and rely on interactive video or other forms of electronic media for instructional delivery

UCSD’s state-of-the-art Distance Learning classroom is located on the main level of the Center for Library Instructional Computing Services, Galbraith Hall, room 260. The UC system is currently offering ten to fifteen courses per quarter among UC and CSU sites.
Your Teaching Method
An instructor need not concern themselves with altering their teaching style to teach in a distance learning situation.
Large screen monitors allow instructors and students to have complete interaction just as if they were in the same classroom. Specialized devices allow you to use transparencies, slides, videotapes and computers.
All UC campus sites have distance Learning Specialists. They would by happy to answer any questions you may have.
