Far beyond the days of a looping DVD, the latest digital signage technology can be updated by any approved user just by logging onto the operating system website. Once there, the user can customize the look of the signs by uploading MPEGs 1, 2, or 4; Flash, Quicktime, AVI, WMV, JPEG, GIF, and MP3. They can also link the signs to live data from web pages, RSS feeds, or streaming video for the latest news or weather information.
