UCSD-TV and UCTV receive technical management and engineering support from the Media Center. More than 82,000 cable subscribers tune into UCSD-TV at least once a week, while UCTV, a university-wide channel, reaches over 15 million homes through satellite and cable all across the United States. UCSD-TV alone produced 142 programs in 2006, often featuring UC San Diego faculty and events, or partnering with institutions such as the San Diego Opera, the Old Globe Theater, and the Fleet Science Center to create compelling and thoughtful programming.
